Why Your Instagram Account Might Disconnect from Storrito

There are several reasons why your Instagram account may become disconnected from Storrito. Below are the most common causes and how to avoid them:

1. Changing Your Instagram Password

When you change your Instagram password, all connected devices - including Storrito - will be logged out.

For Agencies:

If you're managing clients' accounts, it's important to ask your clients to notify you before they change their password. This allows you to reconnect Storrito in a timely manner without service interruption.

2. Clicking "This Wasn't Me"

Instagram sends a notification via email and in-app alerts whenever a new device connects to your account. If you or someone using your account clicks 'This Wasn't Me' in these notifications, Instagram will immediately disconnect from Storrito.

Please note: A generic Android device will appear as the location during the connection process.

For Agencies:

Advise your clients not to click 'This Wasn't Me' if they see a connection alert for Storrito. Instead, they should confirm the connection.

3. Logging Out of a Storrito Session

In the Instagram app, users can log out devices that have access to the account by navigating to:

Accounts Center -> Password and security -> Where you're logged in -> Review devices

If you or a colleague logs out the Storrito connection, the Instagram account will no longer be connected to Storrito.

For Agencies:

Make sure your colleagues and clients are aware not to log out from the Storrito connection.

4. Session Expired

Storrito logs into Instagram like a mobile device. After approximately 3 months, Instagram requires all devices to log in again, which disconnects Storrito.

When this happens, Storrito will mark the account as "expired", and you'll receive an email notification prompting you to reconnect the account.

Tips to Reduce Disconnections

If you experience frequent disconnections, the following tips can help:

  • Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) using an authenticator app (instead of SMS or email)
  • Regularly confirm your login activity in the Meta Accounts Center by tapping "This was me" when prompted
  • Follow our best practices for posting stories
  • Limit the number of devices logged into your Instagram account
  • If you use a VPN, choose a stable IP address to avoid frequent location changes
  • Whenever possible, use the Instagram mobile app instead of accessing it via a browser
