Should You Share Every Instagram Story to Facebook, Too?

Want to successfully showcase your brand on Instagram? Then Instagram Stories should be part of your daily work on Instagram. In our 'Storrito FAQ series,' we answer everything you need to know about Instagram, Instagram Stories, and Instagram marketing.

Key facts at a glance

  • The tap sequence that shares a single Instagram Story to Facebook
  • The Instagram setting that auto-shares every Story to Facebook forever
  • When Storrito makes cross-posting easier than the manual flow

Should I also share my stories on Facebook?

In addition to Instagram, you also have the option to share your stories on Facebook. Since not every one of your followers is on both platforms, sharing to both means you can reach more people.

In four easy steps, you can also share your story on Facebook if you've linked your profile to your Facebook page:

  1. Create your Instagram story as usual, then tap 'Send To.'
2. Under 'Your Story' you'll find the 'Sharing options.'
  3. Then select either 'Share every time on Facebook' or 'Share once.'
  4. Finally, just tap 'Share.'

Note: if you don't see the toggle, you may need to connect your accounts in Meta Accounts Center first.

Additionally, you can set all of your stories to always be shared automatically on Facebook as well. To do this, go to Settings, then Accounts Center, then Sharing across profiles, and turn on sharing for Stories. If you'd prefer to keep certain Instagram followers out of any cross-posted Story, hide your Stories from them before sharing.

Important: If you use Storrito to create your Instagram stories, you can also share your stories on Facebook with just one click.
