As the name suggests, the countdown sticker is used to indicate the time remaining until a certain date and/or time within your Instagram story. When followers see the sticker in your stories, they can choose to activate a reminder. Just before the countdown expires, they will be notified or reminded about it on Instagram.

Where can I find the countdown sticker on my Instagram profile?

To set up the countdown sticker, you first need to take a photo or video in your story or import it from your gallery. In edit mode, there is a smiley icon in the upper right corner. If you tap on it, the overview of available stickers will open. Select the countdown sticker from the list.

How do I use the countdown sticker correctly on Instagram?

As soon as you click on the countdown sticker, the edit mode will open and you will have two options: either create a new countdown sticker or select a sticker that is still active.

To create a new sticker, click on "Create countdown." Then, there are just three steps:

Step 1: Name of the countdown

Here, you can enter the name of the event. This field cannot be empty. Since you don't have too much space here, you have to work with keywords. If you need more text, you can use the "normal" font function in your story.

Step 2: Set end date and time

Tap on the counter to set the end date and/or time. Here you have two options - either count down to a certain day (default setting) or count down to a day and time. In this case, you need to uncheck the "All day" option.

Step 3: Instagram countdown sticker color

In the last step, you can choose the color of the countdown background. To do this, tap the color wheel icon in the top bar several times until you find the color you want. Unfortunately, you can only choose from the default colors.

Now, your countdown sticker is ready to use. Once you have created the sticker, you can use it in different stories until the countdown expires. To do this, simply select the existing countdown from your sticker gallery instead of clicking "Create countdown."
