How To Schedule X Posts

You can connect your X account (formerly Twitter) to Storrito and schedule X posts with a video and a caption, from the same page and the same video as your Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook content.

Connect your X account

Step 1: Go to Social Accounts in the left menu and click Connect X. You can also click Connect account in the account list on the scheduling page and pick the X card.

Step 2: Read the note X posts cost more, which shows what an X post costs (see What it costs below), and continue.

Step 3: Log in to X and allow Storrito to post on your account. Keep all permissions enabled, otherwise Storrito can't publish.

Step 4: You land back on the Social Accounts page, where your account is listed as X account. Click Remove next to it to disconnect it from Storrito.

What X accepts

An X post from Storrito carries one video and its caption:

  • Videos can be up to 140 seconds long. Storrito cuts every video to one minute, so any video you post from Storrito fits.
  • Captions can be up to 280 characters. X counts a link as 23 characters, whatever its length, and most emoji and Chinese, Japanese, and Korean characters as two.

Images are not available for X.

If your video is still being prepared when you open the scheduling page, you can still schedule it. Storrito posts it as soon as the video is ready.

Schedule an X post

Step 1: Get your video into Storrito — Upload on the Schedule page, or create it in the editor.

Step 2: Open the scheduling page. From the editor, click Share then Schedule story. From the Gallery, click your video and choose Social schedule.

Step 3: Under Social accounts, click Select social accounts... and tick your account under X.

Step 4: Fill in Caption / description. This becomes the text of your X post. The same field feeds Instagram Reel captions, TikTok descriptions, YouTube Short descriptions, and Facebook Reel captions, so if you're posting to several platforms at once, you're writing one text for all of them.

Step 5: Set Date & time and click the button below it. The field arrives prefilled with the current date and time, and the button reads Post now until you change it. Once you pick a different date it becomes Schedule to selected destination(s).

What happens to a caption over 280 characters

If your caption is longer than X allows, Storrito shortens it for X and ends it with "…". Storrito never cuts a link in half: if the cut would fall inside a link, the whole link is left out. The note Shortened to 280 characters for X under the caption field tells you when this happens. Other platforms you post to at the same time still get the full caption.

The note counts characters, not X's weights, so a caption with many emoji or Chinese, Japanese, or Korean characters can be shortened without the note. If you'd rather decide where the text ends, shorten the caption yourself before you post.

What it costs

Each post that Storrito publishes on X costs $0.12. A post whose text contains a link costs $0.40. You are only charged for a post that was published.

X posts cost more than posts on other platforms because X charges for every post made through its API, and a lot more for a post that contains a link. Storrito passes this cost on.

X counts more than you might expect as a link: besides addresses starting with https://, a bare domain like example.com or storrito.de is a link, too. Email addresses, hashtags, and cashtags are not. To pay the regular price, leave links out of the caption. A caption that only had a link after the 280th character is charged the regular price, because the link is cut off before the post is published.

Credits are required for X

An X post only publishes if your credit balance is positive when it's due, like everything else Storrito schedules. This also applies if you're on an older plan that posts to other platforms without credits: posting to X is paid with credits. If your plan doesn't include credits, the scheduling page tells you so — switch to a current plan on the Subscription page to post to X. See How Scheduling Works In Storrito for the rules that apply to every platform.

Tracking the post

Scheduling activity shows each X post moving through Scheduled → In progress → Live. A Cancel link is available while the post is still scheduled. On the Schedule page it appears as an X post card, with Edit, Re-schedule, and Cancel on hover.

If your account shows as disconnected

X can revoke Storrito's access, for example after you change your password or remove Storrito from your X settings. Storrito notices this when a post fails: the post shows as Failed in the Scheduling activity with the note that the account is disconnected, and the account is marked Disconnected on the Social Accounts page. Click Reconnect next to the account and log in again, then schedule the failed post once more. A failed post is not retried on its own.
