Why PDFs make good Instagram carousels
The carousel is Instagram's highest-engagement post format, and the content that performs best in carousels — step-by-step tutorials, recipe cards, event line-ups, product lookbooks, restaurant menus — is often already sitting in a PDF somewhere. Retyping it into a design tool is busywork. Screenshotting each page gives you unpredictable resolution and mismatched aspect ratios. A direct PDF-to-slide pipeline skips both problems: the layout you already have becomes the carousel people swipe through.
What to watch out for
Not every PDF translates well to a phone screen. Dense spreadsheets, small-print legal documents and academic papers with narrow margins tend to produce slides where the text is too small to read on a phone. If the slide preview looks tight, the fix is usually upstream: bump the font size in the source, crop to the important region, or split a dense page into two simpler pages before uploading the PDF.
