How To Add Captions To Your Videos In The Storrito Editor

Storrito can transcribe the speech in a video clip and show the words on screen as they are spoken, in one of 16 animated caption styles. You add captions in the Storrito editor, and they are burned into the video when your Story is rendered and posted.

How to add captions

Step 1: Open your design in the Storrito editor and add the video clip that contains the speech to a Story slide.

Step 2: Click Captions in the left sidebar.

Step 3: Under Clip with speech, pick the clip and click Transcribe. Storrito extracts the audio, transcribes it with a timing for every word, and then corrects words the transcription may have misheard, such as a brand name.

Step 4: The transcript appears in the panel and the captions show on the preview. Press play to check them against the video.

Choosing a caption style

The default style is Highlight, a red sweep behind the spoken word. Click Change next to the style name to see all 16 styles, each previewed with the first words of your own clip. Hover over a style to play it, and click to apply it.

Editing the transcript

Even when you edit your transcript, each word will retain the correct timing.

• Fix a typo: click on a word to correct it.
• Jump to a word: click it to move the playhead to that point in the video.
• Split the captions at a word: captions appear a few words at a time, not the whole transcript at once. To decide where one group ends and the next begins, place the cursor before a word and press Enter. Backspace after the break removes it again.
• Emphasize a word: press Ctrl+B (Cmd+B on a Mac). Several styles give emphasized words their own color or animation, for example Neon glow turns them magenta and Particle burst makes them explode.
• Add or remove words: type or delete as in any text field.
• Undo: Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on a Mac).

Transcribe again replaces the whole transcript, including your corrections, emphasis and phrase breaks. Remove captions takes the captions off the clip.

How much do captions cost?

Transcription is charged from your wallet like other AI features in the editor, and the estimated price is shown under the Transcribe button before you start, for example "≈ $0.007 for 1 min 10 s of audio". Limits and tips

• A clip can have up to 5 minutes of audio. For longer videos, cut the clip first.
• Captions work on video clips. Separate audio tracks, such as an uploaded voiceover, cannot be captioned yet.
• Clear speech with little background music gives the best transcript. Many languages are supported, with English the most reliable.
• If the panel says the AI provider is busy, wait a moment and click Transcribe again.
• If no speech is found in the clip, the transcript stays empty and the panel tells you so.
