Video Trim Tool: Free Browser Trimmer With No Quality Loss

The Video trim tool is a free Storrito tool that cuts the start or end off any video. It runs entirely in your browser — no upload, no signup, no quality loss.

You can find it at storrito.com/tools/video-trim.

What you can do with it

  • Drop in a video: MP4, MOV or WebM files with common codecs (H.264, H.265, VP9, AV1). Most phone recordings and consumer camera output work directly.
  • Drag the timeline handles: slide the in and out points to mark the start and end of the trimmed clip. Scrub to preview.
  • Save: the trimmed clip downloads straight to your device with the original quality preserved.

Why there's no quality loss

The tool copies the original audio and video samples into a new container without re-encoding. The output bitrate, codec and resolution are identical to the source — so the trim is fast even for long clips, and the file looks exactly like the original between the in and out points.

Limits to know

  • The whole file has to fit in browser memory. In practice, modern laptops and phones handle clips up to 1-2 GB without issues. For very long recordings, trim in stages.
  • Exotic professional formats like ProRes may not decode in the browser.
  • Audio and video stay in sync because the trim operates on container-level sample boundaries.

A useful pairing

If you want to transcribe or caption a long video with the Subtitle generator or Subtitle overlay, trim it down first — both tools work best on shorter clips.

Where it fits

The tool is free and standalone. No Storrito account is required. The trimmed clip is yours to post however you like.
