Instagram now lets you restyle photos and videos inside Stories using AI-generated visual effects, and you can prepare that content before scheduling it through Storrito.
Meta rolled out the AI Restyle tool directly inside Instagram Stories. It lets you type a text prompt and transform the look of a photo or video before you post it. Think of it as a visual filter powered by generative AI. You describe a style, and Instagram applies it to your media. The important thing to understand is that Restyle can only be applied before posting. Once a Story is published, you cannot go back and add or change the effect. That matters a lot when you schedule content in advance.
Here is how to combine Restyle with Storrito for a clean, efficient workflow.
Key facts at a glance
Open the Instagram app. Create a new Story. Select a photo or video. Tap the Restyle option in the editing toolbar. Type a prompt describing the visual style you want. Instagram generates a transformed version of your media. You can try different prompts until you get the result you like. Then save or share it.
The tool is available on mobile only inside the Instagram Story creation screen. It is not available through the Instagram web interface or through third-party APIs. That means you need to apply the Restyle effect on your phone first, then bring the finished media into Storrito for scheduling.
The workflow is straightforward.
This keeps the AI transformation intact while giving you full control over when the content goes live. You can batch multiple restyled images in one session and schedule them across the week.
AI-generated effects can look wildly different from one prompt to the next. If you are scheduling content for a brand account, consistency matters.
Write down two or three prompt templates that match your brand's visual identity. Reuse them. For example, if your brand uses warm tones and minimal texture, a prompt like "soft warm light, clean background" will give you more predictable results than something vague like "make it cool."
Test each prompt on a sample image before committing to a full batch. Save the prompts that work. Discard the ones that drift too far from your look.
When you upload to Storrito, preview every Story before scheduling. The Storrito editor shows you exactly what your audience will see. Use that preview to catch anything that looks off.
Assuming you can restyle after scheduling: You cannot do this. The Restyle tool only works before the Story is posted. Once the media is uploaded to Storrito and scheduled, the visual content is locked. Apply all AI effects before uploading.
Using inconsistent prompts across a campaign: This creates a disjointed look in your Story sequence. Stick to a small set of tested prompts.
Skipping the preview step: AI effects can sometimes distort text overlays or sticker placement. Always preview inside Storrito before confirming the schedule.
Over-processing visuals: A heavy Restyle effect combined with additional filters or edits inside Storrito can make the content look overworked. Pick one creative direction and commit to it.
Can I apply Restyle effects inside Storrito? No. The AI Restyle tool is part of the Instagram app. You apply the effect on your phone, save the result, and then upload it to Storrito.
Can I change the Restyle effect after scheduling? No. Restyle must be applied before posting. Once you upload to Storrito, the visual is final. If you want a different effect, create a new restyled version and replace the media in your scheduled Story.
Does Restyle work on videos? Yes. Instagram supports Restyle on both photos and videos inside Stories.
Will Storrito's stickers and overlays work on restyled media? Yes. Link stickers, polls, quizzes, and text overlays work the same way on restyled media as on any other uploaded image or video.
