Before connecting a business account, many customers ask us the same questions about account safety and Instagram's terms. Here are our honest answers.
Meta's Platform Terms govern the official API, and that's not what Storrito uses for Stories. Storrito automates the official Instagram Android app with your credentials. Technically, posting happens the same way as if someone on your team posted manually, but automated access isn't something Instagram's terms formally sanction. This applies to any tool that publishes Stories with interactive stickers, because Meta's official API doesn't support them.
Meta's API can publish plain Stories for business accounts, but without interactive stickers and with extra requirements such as a linked Facebook page. Most of our users need Storrito exactly for the sticker functionality, so the official API alone isn't enough. See How Does Storrito Integrate With Instagram? for the full picture.
The Storrito session appears in your login activity as an Android phone, so it isn't detectable as Storrito. Each account gets one fixed device profile at first connect, reused on every reconnect, so Instagram sees one consistent device for years rather than changing hardware. Logins come from our servers, so the location and IP are visible to Instagram like any other login.
We don't track or publish aggregate incident statistics, because Instagram doesn't disclose what caused a restriction or ban. Nobody can say with certainty whether an issue came from a posting tool, spam-like content, another platform connected to the account, or something else entirely.
What we can say: temporary security challenges and disconnects do occur, and they're notably more common when two-factor authentication (2FA) is off or when the account is logged in from many different locations. We strongly recommend enabling 2FA. Storrito has been on the market for over 6 years with more than 100,000 connected Instagram accounts, and we haven't had any reports of permanent bans caused by using Storrito.
Even with 2FA set up and best practices followed, accounts still disconnect from Storrito occasionally. This means Instagram invalidated the session and it needs re-verification, which typically happens every 3 to 6 months, even on healthy accounts. The same thing happens on any other device connected to Instagram — your phone also prompts you to log in afresh every now and again. It's a security feature on Instagram's side, and your account keeps working normally throughout. Simply reconnect in Storrito. If it happens much more often, see Connection Troubleshooting.
The typical outcome: Storrito loses the session, you get a verification challenge, and you can re-connect. Account restrictions generally arise in combination with other issues, such as:
Keep 2FA enabled, keep your login situation consistent (our fixed device profile helps with this), and avoid spam-like behaviour, and your account is well protected.
We're a small team, which here is an advantage: when Instagram changes something, we typically see it within hours and adapt. Historically the effect of such changes has been disconnects (due to updates in the connection procedure), not account penalties.
